Fans of the MG brand have been waiting rather paitently for the past few years in hope of a new MG car to give them something to polish every sunday, it has been confirmed that the MG6 will be debuting at the Shanghai Auto Show in April this year.
The MG6 is set to be the hatchback sister to the popular Roewe 550, and will carry the Roewe 1.8 Turbo engine, as well as the naturally aspirated 1.8 model engine. We can but hope for the 2.5 V6 KV6 engine that was slipped into the Roewe 750, but that is obviously just a dream!
Various rendered pictures of the MG6 have been shown, but according to our sources they are not 100% the same as what MG have got in store, which leaves us with an interesting suprise on our hands, although we’re sure that photos will appear of the new MG before the show.
In addition, SAIC, the parent owner of MG, have plans to launch their own range of cars in Israel, and Europe by 2010, which will see SAIC utilize their assets in China, and the UK, to produce cars for the European and Middle Eastern markets.
