This is a guide regarding fog lights

Rover 200/25/400/45/75 and MG ZR/ZS/ZT/TF use same type of fog lights.
However fog surround depends on Rover/MG model and bumper make.
NOTE that Rover 75 & MG ZT MK2 use different fog type - circular one and not oval.

Two types of fog exist - older type and newer type.

OLDER TYPE

NEWER TYPE

External housing is the same.

Their part numbers (older type) are
LH side: XBJ100270
RH side: XBJ100260

Newer type part numbers are
LH side XBJ105510
RH side XBJ105500

Internally older fogs type have metal glare protection cup. From the rear side difference is that older type use H1 bulbs

which are held in bulb holder

Newer fogs type use H11 bulbs

In this case there is no internal glare protection cap as H11 bulbs have one on themselves, and there is no bulb holder too, as H11 bulbs have one on themselves too.

Bulbs H1 and H11 CAN NOT be interchanged between these two types of fogs

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Connector plug on wiring for older (MK1) and newer (MK2) type of fogs IS NOT THE SAME.

In case that you would like to retrofit fogs and you already have wiring installed, then you most probably have NEWER (MK2) type of connector plug suitable for H11 fogs and bulbs. So, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ARE BUYING, as if you buy H1 older type fogs, and you have H11 connector plugs on wiring, you will need to cut H11 type plugs and replace them with H1 type plugs.

Rover 200/Coupe/Cabriolet/400/Tourer/600/800 use different type of fog lights (200/400 up to 1995 models).
Fog surround also depends of Rover model and bumper make.

with H3 bulb types
