iemand al eens meegemaakt dat een automaat spontaan in de kickdown schiet.

Last year at MOT Time had an advisory on the Cdti's exhaust , well it was the original @ 133k miles . so used it as an oppurtunity to try my Empty Cat pipe as it has a almost new flexi, along with a twin pipe 1.8 rear box.
And around the same time I also has the Autobox oil changed as it was due for it.
Around the same time the autobox seemed to developed an annoying trait that it never did before.
Travelling along the same roads to work as I have done for years, as soon as I hit a slight slope/uphill section at around 65-70 mph the box would instantly kick down to 4th and rev up around 3k, never did that before. it just seems to kick down at every slight bit of extra load ? .
A bit worrying right after a oil Change ?? but I have put up with it.
But since then I have been become a great deal less happy with the Decat.
1. Car has a awful drone resonance when pulling hard at about 2000 rpm
even makes the floor of the car tingle your feet .
2. The exhaust fumes stink something chronic , esp when stationary .
3. MPG seemed to be a bit less -2 or 3mpg maybe ?
4 Car definitley does not pull so well in the low to mid range.
5. As I had to cut the OEM full pipe system to fit the front CAT the pipe flexes at the joiner and taps on the car in reverse ..
So last week decided enough is enough . so Pipe off , cut off the Empty CAT , Welded pipe and Flexi on to the old full CAT and popped it all back on .
The result .......
No drone and exhaust is slightly quieter .
With a betting fitting joiner no banging on the car floor
Fumes have lost the nasty smell, ( still a dirty dizzle tho ; )
We will see on the MPG ?.
But best of all the Autobox now zooms up hills without kicking down . as the car has got all it low end grunt back ..
Now pulls again like a goodun'
